  • 35 percent of waste generation, 40 percent of climate gas emissions and 50 percent of primary raw material consumption are attributable to the construction sector in Europe. The figures show that there is still a lot of potential in construction to save resources and to operate more sustainably. Scientists at KIT are looking for the right levers to achieve this.

In this issue of lookKIT you can read, among other things, about how circular construction principles and biogenic materials could make building more sustainable. You will also learn how interiors can be pleasantly air-conditioned and how energy consumption can be reduced at the same time. We also introduce you to the founders of the Karlsruhe chapter of "Architects for Future" - two KIT architecture master's students.
